JOHANNES MEGENS

Senior Scientist / Dipl.-Ing.

Johannes is a senior scientist at i.sd and researches in the realm of robotic fabrication in architecture. He studied architecture at the University of Innsbruck and graduated in the studio of Patrick Schuhmacher. His interests in teaching and research cover robotic fabrication and computational design as well as its materialization.  At i.sd he is responsible for the robotic fabrication lab which currently consists of an ABB IRB 4600 industrial robot and a Universal Robots ur10e cobot. He worked on various 1:1 implementations such as the robotically aggregated timber structures for the University garden at the Campus Technik or robotically sprayed shotcrete or bio-composite installations. Beside teaching and researching at i.sd, he is the co-founder of incremental3d, a start-up company that focuses on 3d concrete printing.
