Bricks are laid in various patterns mostly in order to achieve structurally stable construction elements. The symbiosis of these two qualities should create a playful field of patterns, textures and colours, the aim of the course is to embed the shingle construction idea into the design alongside with the fabrication as well.
Piling wood is a common packing as well construction method, nevertheless, these piles mostly exist in rigorous parallel or 90° cross arrangements. Questioning these organizations in the context of spatial qualities, patterns and textures will enable differentiated design outcomes and different approaches towards wood assemblies.
