“eSports have joined the big leagues”,
according to Goldman Sachs in their report about
the new subsection of the video game industry.
A recent NewZoo survey estimates that the 198
million eSport gamers that were accounted for in
2019, will reach a massive total of 295 million
by 2023. This sum also excludes the eSport
gamers that do not qualify as professionals,
leisure gamers, of which exceed the former
with an estimated 2,6 billion, according to
Statista. This means that one third of the
world’s population is already part of this
industry.
Are our physical spaces ready for this rampant
enthusiasm that is developing a significant
interest for the entire globe?
