The starting point for the work was the Hofgarten garden centre in Innsbruck, which plays a decisive role in the preservation of the historic Hofgarten park as a local recreation area. The inner-city nursery is responsible for the management of the neighbouring Hofgarten. Urban development projects, both historical and those planned for the future, are drastically reducing the area available to the nursery. This is very precarious, as the nursery has been very dependent on its land area, which is used to grow plants. By means of a self-covering vertical structure, a solution for green verticalisation in urban areas is demonstrated. The project develops from various themes.
