Mathias Bank is an architect, researcher and artist based in Austria. He studied at the Aarhus School of Architecture, The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, where we received his master’s degree with distinction. He conducts his PhD research within the SFB Advanced Computational Design, subproject „Computational Immediacy“. With a strong focus on experience combined with modern technologies his work aims to achieve performative designs and artworks, that are enriching the human experience of space and our surroundings. Mathias has a strong architectural background from several offices in Denmark and Austria, most notably Bjarke Ingels Group. His work and research has been exhibited Denmark, Austria, France, Kuwait, Australia, The United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden & Italy – and has been awarded several prizes and grants. He is a lecturer at the postgraduate program „Designing Future Realities“ by the University of Innsbruck and Werkstätte Wattens.
